Description

Mental Health First Aid is a 6-hour online course that gives people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it builds mental health literacy, helping the public identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.  Self-directed learning will be completed between 8:30-11:00 AM.

Topics include:

• Anxiety
• Depression
• Substance use

• Disorders in which psychosis may occur
• Disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)

• Eating disorders

The fee for this virtual workshop is $179.
Special offer: The first 10 independent charter school registrants in the CESA #1 region can access the training at NO COST (first come - first served).
Materials are included with registration, and registrants will receive login information prior to the training.

Register now! Registration will close at 20 participants or on November 11, 2020.
